Booking a photoshoot for your family can seem daunting, but it really doesn’t have to be. When I work with you I like to get to know you a little before the session, that can be via telephone, a coffee and chat or even via email or whatsapp, whatever makes you most comfortable.

We will talk about any concerns you may have, the most common one is that people just don’t know what to expect on the day of their family photoshoot or that they have never had a photoshoot and are worried about what to wear or how to pose.

Your photoshoot will take place either in a photography studio set up or on a local Essex based location of your choice. If we decide to take your photographs on location I will always make sure I am familiar with the setting, that way we can get the best out of the photo session.

During your session we will make sure that you are all relaxed and having fun! Making the session as enjoyable and relaxed as possible is of the utmost importance to me, because if you or your child is having fun and feel relaxed we will get much better photos.

When you arrive to your photoshoot we will have a little chat about the images that are the most important to capture and then I will show around the photo studio or the location. I will also explain about the flash lights (if we are using them) so that you or the kids don’t get a surprise.

During your family photoshoot we will do some standard poses, if that is the style you want, as well as more of a reportage “capture the moment” style. I personally love catching those unposed, off guard moments, especially of children! I will guide you through the whole photoshoot session.

If you want music on to help you relax we can do that, if you or your child has additional sensory needs we will also make sure they are catered for. As a mother of 2 boys myself, I know that sometimes things don’t always go to plan and that the smallest thing can turn a child’s mood around in a flash. I keep bubbles to hand at all times, stickers and some other little tricks to keep kids on side during a child portrait session.

At the end of your session we will scan through your images on a tablet so that you can get a feel for what your private online gallery will look like. Once your session is over your gallery will be uploaded to your secure image gallery where you can make your image selections.

I have photographed many people who have never been in front of a camera and like to think I am a bit of a pro at making them feel at ease. I know that almost everyone has some questions before a photoshoot and I am always more than happy to answer any questions, not matter how big or small it may seem.
